Parents and Coaches – Please Read Before Registering!
Last year we moved to a new registration system, Sports Connect. While this has worked out well overall, we have noticed a few things that have tripped up a number of parents and coaches during registration. Please review the information on this page before registering to ensure that your player and yourself (for coaches) are placed at the correct level for the fall. Once you have reviewed this information, click the Registration link at the bottom of the page to be taken to the Sports Connect registration system.
Parents:
Register for the correct division
When you register your player, you should see two (or even three) options for grade levels. Please register your player for the correct level they should play at for the Fall 2024 season.
For example: If your player was in 3rd grade for the 2023-24 school year, and will be entering 4th grade in September 2024, AND they should play AT grade level, please select “Grade 4 – Boys” or “Grade 4 – Girls” under Available Programs. If they want to play “up” to 5th grade, please select “Grade 5 – Boys” or “Grade 5 – Girls”. You should still indicate their actual grade in the additional information section (where you also enter their school and name for trophy, etc).
Add a secondary email
The best way to add a secondary email (for example, an email address for another parent so you both receive communication from the coach) is to add that secondary email as an “additional user” on your account.
To add an additional user to your account, first log in via the Register button. Then, click the “Edit Account Info” gear in the upper right part of the screen. Scroll down and click “Add Additional Account Holder” and complete the info. This will send an “invitation” to the email address to complete their account set up. Please note that this method will provide full account access to that additional account holder, so this may not be suitable for all situations.
Coaches:
Register for each team you plan to coach or assistant coach
If you are only coaching one team, please register in the same division as that team. For example, if you are coaching your 2nd grade daughter, please register as coach/assistant coach in Grade 2 – Girls.
If you are coaching multiple teams, please register in each division you will be coaching. For example, if you are coaching both your 2nd grade daughter and your 8th grade son, please register twice: once in Grade 2 – Girls and once in Grade 8 – Boys.
If you register in the wrong division, we can move you. However, if you only register for one team, we cannot roster you on more than one team. Each team requires its own registration.
Updates for Assistant Coaches
Assistant coaches will now have the same permissions in Sports Connect, meaning both head coaches and assistant coaches will be able to send messages to the team through Sports Connect.

Make sure you don’t miss important emails!
All emails sent through the Sports Connect system (most of the emails we send!) will come from the domain “bluesombrero.com”. Please add clubnews@bluesombrero.com to your email address book or take other steps necessary for your email provider to recognize bluesombrero.com as not spam. During the spring season, many families did not get important first emails from their coaches because messages went to spam.
