Players will all receive a jersey for the spring (and return it to us at the end of the season). Your coach will distribute these at your first practice. If you need to exchange size or pick up one because you registered late, we will have an Exchange/Pickup on Friday, April 7 from 5-7. We will let you know where next week.

Thanks much – we are hoping for more dry weather and looking forward to a great spring season.

Key dates:
We look forward to seeing you in the spring! Stay tuned for more information and details.
The continuing poor air quality and AQI of over 150 in our practice area has caused our parent league (THJSL) to cancel all practices this evening. This includes our full microsoccer program for Thursday. Assuming the forecast rain appears on Friday, we expect that the games scheduled on Saturday will be held but if there are any updates, we will let our coaches know as soon as possible and also post on this website.
Our microsoccer coordinator is working with our micro coaches on end of season plans. Parents and players will hear from their coaches within the next couple of days.
Thanks for your flexibility.
The AQI as reported by airnow.gov is currently well above 100 and in the “Unhealthy for Special Populations” category. This is not expected to improve this afternoon.
All SWSC practices this afternoon are cancelled. We will monitor the situation for Thursday, and provide an update tomorrow afternoon.
Our microsoccer games/practices are cancelled today as the Air Quality Index as reported by airnow.gov at the Rock Creek, OR location is over 100 and so in the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups”, which includes our children. We will see you on Thursday for our final fall microsoccer session.
With the season already started and well underway, registration for the Fall, 2022 season is now closed.
Good luck to all our Fall, 2022 teams and have a great season.
Information about the Spring, 2023 season will be provided in December with registration likely opening at the start of the new year.
Here is the info we have been provided by the league. We have been told they use the hourly predictions by weather.com. We know smoke is also a potential so that may be the tipping point as well.
Your coach is your primary point of contact regarding your game. Please contact them first if you have any questions.
If you are playing on a THPRD field, please check their website for field closures. If your game is cancelled, our scheduler has indicated that games should be able to be made up.
Air Quality Issues
AirNow.gov is used to monitor the AQI.
Somerset West Soccer Club will be following Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) guidelines for cancelling practices due to excessive heat.
Practices will be cancelled if the forecast heat index is above 105.
For heat index values from 95-105 please give lots of water breaks in the shade, lower the intensity of activities, consider shortening the practice, and closely monitor your kids to keep them safe.
For games, referees will use hydration breaks as needed for player safety. Any game cancellations will be sent out by the league.

SWSC is an all-volunteer organization and we need your help. Our Head Coach, THJSL League Representative, and Equipment Manager positions need to be filled for the upcoming soccer year (Spring and Fall, 2022). Descriptions of each position are below.
Without the help of our parents and friends, we cannot offer our program for our almost 700 players. The SWSC board meets once/month (remotely at this time). We have a great group and would love to have you join us. Everyone steps up to provide support whenever needed and we are committed to providing our families and players the best recreational soccer experience possible.
If you are interested in any of these positions, have questions, or would like more information, please let us know via an email to Stu, our SWSC president at president@somersetwestsoccer.org.
Thanks in advance for your help.
